Visiting Philippines? Try this dessert

My #1 Philippine dessert is not traditionally filipino. The day I arrived was grey and wet, yet humid. The traffic was a cluttered mess going from the airport. But the start of an authentic Asian experience. It was in September. I am however not reminiscing about my stay, but the smell of caramalized sugar when I entered the kitchen that following morning. The Philippines have its traditional dessert like Halo-Halo and Buku salad that is both delectable, must try frozen desserts. But it is neither of the two that made an impression on me during my visit to the Philippines. I originally began writing this post to share a great delicacy of my first visit to the Philippines.  Being passed off as a filipino dessert, I soon realised that this is not a filipino dessert but, the filipino version rather. It is still the filipino version I prefer, since I had travelled to Mexico, France and South Africa. My finding is that the filipino version referred to as Leche Flan is tastier,...

I sat on the famous Iron throne of Westeros - Croatia Dubrovnik

Upon entering the colossal metal and sturdy wooden gate, medieval architecture and cobblestoned pathways with steep stairs alleys and lanterns paved the way.

The bell tower of the cathedral bellows into your bones. The atmosphere is joyous and a rich smell wafts through the streets, of corner cafes. Laundry wave at you from green shuttered windows and parrots curtsy at you passing by.

Never would I have imagined that when I first got hooked by Game_of_Thrones that my travels would take me to the shooting location of Kings landing, in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

To where Cersei was shamed, to a place of so much betrayal, passion and deceit.

But, off screen it is a magical location that bring joy to many.

Who is as fortunate to say that their first date was in Kings landing. Yes I remember back when I first started my addiction with Game of Thrones their was no intention of being coupled, neither was there a possibility of going anywhere but my city. Then years later in 2017 I found myself sitting beneath one of the most famous bell towers with whom I didn't know was going to be my future partner. Sipping on a red wine with a sleeveless bomber jacket, pretending I didn’t feel a thing when I was enduring the stinging cold. Stinging but refreshing.

Even without being a game of thrones fan, this destination is truly a masterpiece. Their is several tours but I felt prices to be a bit steep depending on which one you would pic. A lot can be seen without taking a tour, and for us it was about dining and wandering freely. Experiencing every corner and capturing our moments in our own way.

This destination has undoubtably become one at the top of my list, as a fan of Game of Thrones, as a lover of architecture, and as a peaceful wanderer this destination captured my heart.
